Freewrite for the day of August 4.

Write about a very important experience you've had this summer. What lessons did you learn? What memories will stick with you? How will this experience change your view of the world.

Day 1 of the Neverending Workshop

My students at the summer camp I teach at asked if they could send me poems throughout the year that I would look at. My answer was "Yes, of course. But why not send the whole class a poem?"

So we come to the "Neverending Workshop." My goals for this blog is to be an instructional tool for young people interested in writing. You can post your writing in the comments box. We'll all look at it and give it a fair appraisal.

Some ground rules:

No more than one piece a day. We can't get to everything by everyone.

Please do not post offensive or violent material.

Always practice and maintain respect for others and their writing. This is an environment of encouragement. Try to couch any criticism in constructive terms.
